ONCE UPON A TIME..... 😁 I’m guessing dad had no prior knowledge someone would be visiting me so (I’m thinking) a last minute opportunity came to send me ‘something’ through my sister and he wouldn’t let the chances pass by him.....πŸ€”

This was 12years old me. I was away from home and it was that year when I turned 13πŸ’ƒπŸΎThere was no cell phones πŸ“΅for my age group and no Facebook shout outs πŸ—£too 😁 back in the days. My birthday cameπŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚ and my older sister came visitingπŸ‘©‍❤️‍πŸ’‹‍πŸ‘©It wasn’t only her visit that made my day but the fact that she came bearing a birthday Card “hand written and designed by My dad”.πŸ’Œ

Truth is I have always loved cards and dad knowing this must have thought it would make my day. And YES! YES!! YES!!! it did. Now here’s the part that got to my heart. HE DIDN’T BUY ME A NEW CARD, He simply picked one of the old cards at home, tore off the already printed leaf inside (who does that🀣) and wrote such beautiful words in black ink πŸ“ just for me on my birthday ❤️

I’m thinking!!! “Could dad be broke? Why didn’t he just buy a new card. This one isn’t looking neat and why isn’t it in an envelop”? Little childish THOUGHTS IN MY HEAD before I flipped open the card. Guess what? .....WHILE READING HIS MESSAGE , MY COUNTENANCE CHANGED, THE JOY IN MY HEART AND THE SMILE ON MY FACE ..... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️omg!

I still remember that day and wish I could say “thank you Dad” again for the card. From the words he wrote to the thought of writing and the guts to even edit and send a used greeting card 🀣🀣🀣 , I knew Daddy loved me. I knew he would give me more if he had the opportunity.

I saw GENUINE LOVE and the desire to make his child feel Loved and a zeal to just pass on an information precious enough to make me smile πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•and the value of living such memory in my heart for life. (irrespective of the way it seems at first) There are many lessons and memories I relish on about my Dad and several birthdays have passed with BIGGER GIFTS from him but this singular act taught me a vital lesson I will never forget in a hurry.

I then made up my mind that either I have expensive gifts or not, I will never miss out on showing love to people whom I genuinely care about.

πŸ‘‰πŸ½LESSON : So if a card is all you have this season of giving and sharing, don’t kill yourself with guilt if you are not able to match it with expensive gifts for the ones you love. Don’t hold back the visit or call because you don’t want to go empty handed.

To show love shouldn't always be about the gifts. You can clear your closet by removing the ones that are no longer your size and just give it to close relatives who may need them. Sometimes a call could just be all that matters to that "Loved one" right now.Sometimes send a card, visit or just share a hug, hold their hands, Listen to them, text a message, or just hand write a note. It WILL(may)go a long way.

Ps: some of us (I) still appreciate greeting cards and no matter how affordable a bulk seems, it cost something too. So my brothers & Sisters, make sure you have a "debt free" Christmas..... and remember CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. (James 1:17).

Don’t postpone your Joy

Why spend so much for a birthday? Is it a movie??? Sunmbooooo you are setting us (wives) on a rat race ooo. Few of the comments I received from the effect of this video.

Hahahaha, little did they know It was more than that....

I had just returned back from America where I went to have my baby but with another sad case of miscarriage.

Then October came, thank you Lord, at least we have a reason to celebrate.

Instantly I wore my creative crown. My love and I deserve some fun jare. Life is short.

Then I went all out. This was my place of HAPPINESSπŸ₯‚ another opportunity to create a wow moment with the one I Love. Instead of wallowing in self pity and feeling down, I took some time off to enjoy life on a boat cruise with my man.

He was so happy. We laughed, danced, made a toast to many happy returns πŸ₯‚Little did we know our miracle (PRINCE DAVID will click that night. Fast forward 07:07:2018 our prince showed up.

For what it’s worth, a little enjoyment (for two,in our case or oneself) comes with great gain.

Today we celebrated Pastor’s 48th Birthday with our baby in our arms.

Listen sister, Your Miracle will find you in a place of happiness. Don’t postpone your JOY.  Embrace life, Drop the knife and trust God absolutely.

Early this year, I attended my son’s school inter house sporting event.  It was one of those days when I was tired of staying at home because of the fear of Miscarriage.

So the games went really well and the energy was on top gear. Na so dem call “PARENTS RACE OOO” if you know me well, you know how much I love to inspire. Something in me just got up to cheer other parents up to come on the field as every one Dey form shyness 🀣🀣

Then, fiam πŸƒπŸ½‍♀️ off I go to represent my son. As a proud mum of  soccer champions. I can’t fall their hand oo πŸ€£πŸ™Œ Ah! What are you doing? Said one parent. “I have come to run and represent my category” 😁😁 They all laughed and the race began.... πŸƒπŸ½‍♀️

πŸƒπŸ½‍♀️πŸƒπŸ½‍♀️πŸƒπŸ½‍♀️ See sprinters, Chei. 2mins and they were all on the finish line.... but wait ooo, everyone is still clapping, Infact they are now standing, wow!!! They are clapping louder.... there’s a pregnant parent on the pitch and she’s almost on the finish line.

Slowly  and steady 🀰🏽 with my cute bum, I finished the race and was given a gift.
Yes I won. No I wasn’t first or second. I SIMPLY CREATED MY CATEGORY and WON with my uniqueness.

What’s your excuse again? YOU CAN DO IT. And YES! You will win.

7 years ago, I resigned from my banking career to venture into a new line of business I knew nothing about.

Was I tired of the routine work? YES!
Was I in need of a better remuneration? YES (before nkoπŸ˜ƒ) who wouldn’t.

But the force that was working in my head was stronger than all the idea of becoming CEO.

I lost sleep, fasted, prayed. I even ran the idea through some colleagues who encouraged me to draw a business plan.

Soon after I put the vision down, I began to believe in the dream and gain clarity.

Was I scared? Hmmm! Heck YES I was.

And to think I even resigned in January for that matter. I mean who does that?

After all the “feferity” Of December.... I needed a bounce back pay. Can anyone relate?

But I left anyway. This was few days to my son’s 5th year birthday. Hmmm! What am I doing? Am I crazy or what?

Did I eventually get a better remuneration in my new chosen field?
How did I survive starting a business without capital?
And was it a better routine compared to my 9-5 job?

Hahahahaha.... you really should hear this.

Join me this Thursday, March 8,2018 on twitter ( @inspiringchang ) as I share my GAME CHANGER Story in a line up of tweet from 8am.

My name is Sunmbo Ajaba Adeoye and This years Inspiring Change tweet conference is going to be inspiring. Tell someone.

In my life’s journey, especially academically, I’ve encountered some unnecessary waiting seasons that could have been averted if only I had a mentor.

Can you believe I stayed home close to 5years after leaving high school, just to get admitted into the university? Im sure your jaw dropped and you may be wondering “what happened”? Well, “No, I wasn’t a dummy” neither was it for lack of funds....
I just didn’t know what other options were available.
Thank God for the likes of my sisters bestie Iyanuoluwaseun Soetanwhom God used to show me the way.

So I wrote this book as a gift to the World as inspired by my boys Ninofabulous and King Zii  πŸ˜πŸ˜

Parenting can be fun filled if you know how to play the role right.

This book has so many “Aww” moment, & loads of aha moments too. πŸ˜πŸ˜

You won’t stop smiling, nodding and taking in the deep lessons.

For example, I had jokingly asked my boys severally how I frustrate their dreams.
One of the very one that cracked me up, is when Zion said “ each time I cease their ball, I delay them from becoming future star ballers… hahahaha, me? Frustrate their dreams how? Ah, I was only teaching them how to prioritize. Not every timefootball jare. Sometimes you have to read and sometimes you eat and other times just sleep. But please with the rate at which they pay footballers these days, I guess they can play all they want ooo. (lol)

For some other kids, their parent or guardian frustrate their dreams when they fail to buy the necessary tools or kits needed for them to practice. My Prayer for each parents is that God will give you the capacity and enablement to be able to supply all of the needs of your creative wards in Jesus amen.

for full gist and insight, be sure to download my new ebook, read it and drop your reviews too.

The Link will be available soon. kindly share it with families and friends on your entire social space and follow me @sunmboadeoye for subsequent inspiring piece.
